Bottom Line - this is a holy grail for me and my hubby-to-be. I have yet to find another hand lotion that does what this does without leaving a residue.
Dermalogica:
Dermalogica is an American skincare company founded by Jane and Rey Wurwand in 1986. However, before the first Dermalogica products were made - in 1983, Jane, a U.K. trained skin therapist, opened "The International Dermal Institute" for licensed skin therapists to teach hands-on postgraduate level skincare training. Realizing there weren't products on the market which matched what she was teaching, Jane and Rey established Dermalogica. They decided they wanted a product line free of common irritants and ingredients which they felt led to breakouts, such as lanolin, SD alcohol, mineral oil, artificial colors, and fragrances - and that's exactly what they ended up creating.
Dermalogica Multivitamin Hand and Nail Treatment:
Hands down (pun intended) this is the best hand cream I've ever tried! At times I have clammy hands and I hate using thick lotions that don't or can't absorb into my skin. Who wants to wear lotion that ends up leaving marks behind after you touch stuff? This is not that lotion. This lotion heals the driest and roughest hands (sorry hubby), and hydrates your skin without leaving it greasy or with a film. It absorbs incredibly fast (about 45-60 seconds) and works really well on cuticles. Oh, and it also has glycerin in it. Glycerin (which seems popular in European hand creams) is an amazing ingredient that hydrates deeply into the skin and keeps the skin hydrated for longer. I don't know why I don't see glycerin in many other American hand lotions, but this stuff is awesome. Although I can't vouch for this part - according to the product details - it also shield against environmental damage and has brightening ingredients which help to stop signs of premature aging and hyperpigmentation. The only bad thing I can say about this is that it doesn't have SPF. It's great that it treats the signs of premature aging and hyperpigmentation, but wouldn't it be better if it had an SPF to help shield our hands (which are usually always exposed to sunlight) to begin with? The last thing I'll mention is that this product is gluten free, vegan, paraben free, cruelty free, and has no artificial colors or fragrances.
Stats:
This is reasonably priced at 2.5fl (75ml) for $26 (or $2.88 per ml) and during the bitterly cold and dry winter months (like now), one bottle lasts for about 2.5 months. A little goes a long way.
You can buy this on Dermalogica's website (www.dermalogica.com), but it's also available at Dermstore.com, Skinstore.com, Blue Mercury, Ulta Beauty, Nordstroms, and many many other stores (http://www.dermalogica.com/authorized-retailers/authorized-retailers,default,pg.html), or at your local stockists (http://www.dermalogica.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Dermalogica-Site/default/Stores-Find).
I do not recommend buying high-end beauty products from Amazon or eBay. While I love Amazon and eBay and most sellers are legitimate with quality products - beauty products tend to be highly susceptible to fraud. If you're going to spend your hard earned money, make sure you're buying what you think you're buying.
That's it. Let me know if you have any questions.
