Review: 31 Different SokoGlam Sheet Masks

Greetings, my friends! Bottom Line - I tried a lot of masks over the past few months, and I'd only definitely repurchase 15 masks.  Ultimately the ones I didn't like were either A) masks that didn't work or B) consisted of a gross thick gooey essence that felt terrible on my skin. In short, I didn't like the ACWELL, Benton, Enature, Klavuu, Leaders, Tony Moly, and Ultru masks. But I did love most of Manefit's, Missha's, most of Neogen's, and Skinfood's mask. ACWELL:   Per SokoGlam.com, ACWELL is a Korean beauty company that combines traditional Korean medicine with over 400 years of history with modern-day research to give you the best results. Natural herbs calm skin and address problems at their roots to restore skin back to health. ACWELL Honey Anti-Wrinkle Daanj Mask:  I'm torn on this one. I like the results, but I don't think I'll buy this again even though it only costs $2.50. I've tried a couple of these ki...

Review: Dermalogica's Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50

Greetings, my friends! Bottom Line  - my husband loves this daytime moisturizer and will buy it again once he runs out. Dermalogica : Dermalogica is an American skincare company founded by Jane and Rey Wurwand in 1986. However, before the first Dermalogica products were made - in 1983, Jane, a U.K. trained skin therapist, opened "The International Dermal Institute" for licensed skin therapists to teach hands-on postgraduate level skincare training. Realizing there weren't products on the market which matched what she was teaching, Jane and Rey established Dermalogica. They decided they wanted a p roduct line free of common irritants and ingredients which they felt led to breakouts, such as lanolin, SD alcohol, mineral oil, artificial colors, and fragrances - and that's exactly what they ended up creating. Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50: **Disclaimer - I do not use this moisturizer. This is one of my husband's moisturizers.**  My husband loves this...

Review: Skinfood's Rice Mask Wash Off

Greetings, my friends! Bottom Line - I will happily repurchase this mask and my hubby loves it too! Skinfood: Per SokoGlam.com,  SKINFOOD's philosophy is to create beauty products formulated with the extracts of the highest quality fruits and vegetables. Healthier skin starts with food. Rice Mask Wash Off: I'm not going to lie. I didn't have high hopes for this mask because I thought it might be too harsh for my skin, but this is awesome! This is so amazing in fact that my hubby stole it from me and added it to his skincare toolkit. This makes your skin incredibly soft and smooth. It also has a lovely light scent which is not overpowering. For me, the biggest take away was that I noticed it made my skin glow afterwards, but my husband noticed that his skin "felt like a baby's butt" after he used it. My only word of caution would be that  this shouldn't be used more than once a week to avoid causing damage as it is a physical exfoliator. Stats: ...

Review: Dermalogica's Precleanse

Greetings, my friends! Bottom Line  - this is one of my favorite oil-based cleansers and will happily buy this again. Dermalogica Precleanse: This is a great make-up remover - especially for people who wear stubborn eye and lip make-up! It has a great thick consistency, but it...

Protect: SPF

Greetings, my friends! Bottom Line -  use broadband sunscreen everyday (even on cloudy days), use at least SPF 30 (although I prefer SPF 50), and if you can, find a minimum PA+++ rated sunscreen. Note Bene:  I'd like to start by saying that to me the most important thing you can do for your skin and your body is to protect it from the sun. I'm going to go through a few terms you'll see when researching sunscreen (such as UVA, UVB, broadband, PA, sunscreen vs sunblock, etc), in order to help educate you on why certain qualities in sunscreens are so important. Also, the graphics I've used were not made by me - I found them on the internet - but they were really awesome and I wanted to use them to demonstrate the topics I'll discuss. Sunblock vs Sunscreen:  Wanna buy sunblock? You can't anymore. The term changed from when most of us were children from sunblock to sunscreen as people became confused by the name. People seemed to think that sunb...
